LNG power

Isuzu Motors has started a public road demonstration in Osaka City of its first large-scale LNG-powered truck.

The company held a starting ceremony at an LNG fuel station on Friday (1 June).

According to Isuzu, the LNG truck and fueling station have been developed as part of Japan’s Ministry of Environment project for reducing CO2 emissions.

Isuzu said that the LNG-powered truck is expected to have an operating range of 1,000 kilometres or more and will travel between Japan’s capital Tokyo and Osaka.

Isuzu estimated that CO2 emissions will be reduced by about 10% percent compared to the latest diesel heavy vehicle fuel efficiency standard
